Sustainability and ESG compliance

Flowseg product line offers various ways to improve sustainability in your laboratory or production.

Some gases like Helium are finite resource on earth, some gases are very expensive and energy intensive to refine. Even regular gases are notable expense to restock. Flowseg offers ways to manage the gas consumption and helps with ESG goals of your organization, not to mention the savings it can help to achieve in gas restocking expenses.

Gas usage logs and reports

All used gas is automatically accounted for and the software can generate reports for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly gas usage. Environmental sustainability requires strategy, goals and policy, but also measurable and actionable properties. Lower gas use is categorically waste reduction.

Preventing potential downtime

The aforementioned reports can also help prevent the very expensive downtime caused by waiting to get restocked new gas cylinders should they not be ordered in time. This warning/foresight is possible, as it is a feature in the software to mark new gas cylinder arrival time and volume in the log-system, and get estimated remaining stock and projections with historical and current use, showing suggestions of when new cylinders need to arrive with the current consumption rate.

Automated shutdown

The software will stop unattended gas flow when a timer runs to zero. This does not prevent open-ended use (the countdown timer can be reset while in use) but will stop gas from flowing if device is left unattended for too long (this can be adjusted to 24h, over weekend, and other convenient time-peroids)

Dilution and re-dilution

An approach is to get calibration mixtures premade in large gas cylenders, but it is far more economical to make such mixtures on-site. Flowseg devices can make static or dynamic mixtures of two or more input gases (and/or fluids). The software can calculate the partial pressures even when the input gas is a mixture, even when the input is a dynamic gas mixture from another Flowseg Gas device, allowing what is called re-dilution. Redilution is particularly economical way to form ppm and ppb level mixtures without wasting large amounts of the diluting gas, or by having to acquire pre-made mixtures. Not only are the pre-made mixtures expensive, theyr delivery times can be very long, causing significant downtime.

Modular approach

The flowseg system is modular, so various users and research projects can re-purpose and inter-use the same equipment and same software. New expansion devices and options are compatible and modular, and can be added to the same system in the future without the need to change any of the existing devices. The system is like a set of Lego©.

Quotas

The software supports overall or per user-gas quotas and can take actions accordingly, either to just warn of excess use, or even deny further gas use.
